Bringing people back into real life.
Reframing how we use apps to connect. By giving you a place to meet, not a feed to scroll.
We lost the gathering place.
We used to know where to meet, and what to do when we got there. Town squares. Pubs. Hilltops. Sunday hikes. The place and the plan were the same thing.
Then the gathering moved to feeds. Profiles instead of people. Highlight reels instead of moments. Matches instead of plans. Connection turned into a performance.
We scroll through lives instead of living our own.
People connect best when they're doing something together. The apps haven't caught up to that yet.
Connection comes from doing things together.
Shared activity is how people actually meet. A gig. A Sunday hike. A comedy night. A trip. A room full of strangers who chose the same thing for the same reason.
What happens in that room isn't accidental. The activity does the work. It creates common ground. It gives you stories. It turns a group of strangers into a temporary “we.” The relationship isn't waiting to be discovered. It gets built in the doing.
New settings make people more open, more curious, more themselves. That's where you actually see someone: how they collaborate, how they adapt, how they make space for the people around them. You don't learn that from a profile.
People have always gathered on hilltops. Not because the climb is easy, but because the view is shared and the moment is felt together. What's been true for thousands of years is true now: the activity makes the connection.
Reframe how we use apps to connect.
If connection comes from doing things together, the job of the app is to make the meeting easy and then get out of the way. Not to maximise minutes-on-screen. Not to perform another version of you to strangers.
Every plan on Hilltops is anchored to something real: an activity, a time, a place, a reason to show up. The rest is up to the people in the room.
Connection isn't a thing you find. It's a thing you make together.
Connect. Discover. Save.
The app should pay rent. Here's what we're focused on passing back to the people who show up.
Connect.
Meet people through what you actually do. Gigs, hikes, comedy, sport. No swiping. Just plans, with real people.
Discover.
We surface what's on across Australia. Events from trusted ticketing partners, alongside the social rooms and venues people are creating around you. So you've always got a plan to choose from.
Save.
We're building partnerships with venues and event organisers so going with Hilltops means access to deals, group rates, and offers our members can only get here. Nothing live yet. But it's where we're heading.
What we stand for.
Real over virtual.
We measure success by what happens after you close the app, not how long we keep you in it. Real connection happens in person, not in feeds.
Experiences over profiles.
A profile shows what someone has chosen to post. A shared activity shows how they actually are. We anchor every interaction to something real, because that's where connection actually happens.
Built for members, not extraction.
We're working to pass real value back to the people who show up. As we grow, we'll bring partner offers, group rates, and savings to members. Not lock them behind paywalls.
Safety as a default.
Activities happen in public spaces. Events, venues, group meetups. By design. You control your privacy and who can reach you, and we act on community guidelines when something doesn't fit.
The view is better with people.
